The World Parkinson’s Program has created multiple educational brochures, available in 22+ languages, about Parkinson’s disease that are available for free. Through our educational materials, we aim to increase the awareness of Parkinson’s disease globally. In addition, our educational materials can help improve self-management for those with Parkinson’s disease.

EDUCATIONAL CONFERENCES & SEMINARS

Throughout the year, we host free educational and informational seminars in community centres, religious centres and other locations. These seminars cover a variety of topics, such as women and Parkinson’s disease, treatment of Parkinson’s disease, etc. Included in these seminars are exercise sessions, group discussion, mental health sessions and mindfulness/meditation.

In addition to free educational seminars for the general public, we have also started hosting educational conferences for family physicians. The purpose is to better equip family doctors with the skills and knowledge to treat individuals with Parkinson’s disease. The conference sessions are conducted by neurologists and other healthcare professionals that specialize in Parkinson’s disease. Our first conference was held in 2019.
